I have 3 spring air rifles, a couple pumps and I wanted to try a gas piston. AGD had this gun on sale a few weeks ago for 6. I thought I would give it a try. I viewed as many reviews as I could and determined that it would be a pretty good gun with a trigger fix. So I viewed trigger fixes and found the best to be by Kenny, MY AIR GUN REVIEW. The review indicated that an RC car bearing is needed to change the ramp rate on the seer so ordered that and a Hammers scope. The gun was delivered very quickly from AGD and I shot it a couple times just to check the trigger out and have a comparison with the RC bearing fix. The trigger is terrible, the first half does nothing and the second half of the pull is stiff and long and the gun shoots at different points on the second half. So I pulled the gun down, takes about 1. I removed the primary pull spring and shaft and installed the bearing as indicated by Kenny. Also note here, all structural screws were blue locktited from the factory. I applied more upon reassembly. Wow, what a difference this trigger fix made. The pull is short, crisp and releases at the same point every time. And the safety works just as designed and that is what you want. So here is what you are going to get for your money. The stock. Is beautiful, although lighter colored than pictures indicate. I have no idea how they make such a beautiful stock for this kind of money. The wood is claimed to be hardwood, but if it is it is of a soft variety. So be careful and it should look nice for a lot of years. The barrel, trigger assembly and related parts. Are all metal except the trigger guard and are of excellent quality. Make sure you clean the barrel before shooting as it is fouled with machining oil. Mine wasnt as dirty as my other rifles but still took 2. Again, I have no idea how they make such a quality gun at this price. Shooting the gun. Mine will put 1. 0 shots in the size of a dime at 2. Very accurate and doesnt appear to be hold sensitive like my other springers. I have no idea what pellets the gun likes or doesnt like. My local stores only have the pointed Crosmans in. I would suspect it would be equally happy with the Crosman domed, hollow point and flat face. This gun shoots very much like a powder burner, none of that dang spring action which quit frankly I do not like. This is by far my easiest gun to shoot Power. I built a 34 plywood box with a metal plate on the inside for a pellet trap. My magnum. 1. 77 pellet rifles put nice little holes in the ply. This Vantage. 2. I had to make a 2x. I lean against the box so I wouldnt ruin it. The. 2. 2 will penetrate the 2x. This Nitro Piston is amazing, has as much or more power than my springers and none of that dang spring clanging around action. To finalize my review. If someone ask me, what gun would you recommendI would without a doubt say The Crosman Vantage NP. All my other guns were more expensive than this gun, some by 3x the amount but this gun out shines them all. Its very, very easy to shoot. Has plenty of power for target shooting or hunting small game up to raccoon sized. Its back yard friendly, oh and none of that dieseling that new springers have. Its accurate enough to compete in any entry level competition. This gun should be everyones entry level gun, maybe there only gun. I just cant get over how easy it is to shoot. Makes pellet gun shooting a joy. I have one magnum springer that thumps the heck out of my cheek, making it not so fun and fun is what pellet gun shooting should be all about Also keep in mind, this gun is not a toy. Very much an adult sized gun and children and small women may have a hard time cocking it.
